Eligibility Requirements:
The first step towards joining NMI’s esteemed community is ensuring that you meet our eligibility criteria. We accept candidates with the required qualifications or their equivalents from accredited institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education/Government. The specifics vary based on your region:
– Guyanese/Caribbean Applicants: A minimum of five (5) subjects at the CXC/CSEC level.
– North American Applicants: Possession of a High School Diploma.
– British Applicants: Holding a General Certificate of Education.
– Asian Applicants: Completion of Higher Secondary School.
– African Applicants: Possession of a Senior Secondary Certificate.

To complete your application, you’ll need to gather a set of essential documents:
– Eight (8) recent passport-size photos
– Valid police clearance certificate
– One letter of recommendation
– CSEC/CXC certificate along with any other certificates for higher studies
– Passport biographic data page
– National Identification Card
– Birth Certificate
– Curriculum Vitae
– Copy of COVID-19 Vaccination Card
Transfer Applicants:
We welcome transfer students from other universities or educational facilities. If you’re considering transferring to NMI, simply apply as a transfer student and provide your education documents from your previous institution. Acceptance as a transfer student is at the discretion of NMI School of Medicine, based on your prior education. Depending on your previous coursework, you may be exempted from certain courses or parts of the medicine program.

– High School: 3 terms (1 year)
